This multi-faceted police/fire training facility sits on a 20-acre site. It contains classrooms, repelling walls, and active training spaces. External facilities include a multi-story drill tower, class A burn building, a high-speed pursuit and skills pad, car fire props, and search and rescue exercise spaces. A unique, integrated design-build process was used to expedite the project- the first DB project ever for the City of Aurora.
The facility contains a special water system to capture and re-use firefighting water over and over on the burn buildings. To bring water to the site, 7000' of forced main was installed to reach the nearest facility.
