Martin/Martin was contacted by the owner to recommend repairs for this 40,000 SF parking structure following a property acquisition. The garage is the primary source of parking for the adjacent office tower building tenants. Martin/Martin recommended immediate temporary shoring to protect the users of the garage due to severely deteriorated precast inverted-tee beams, as well as a select demolition phase to determine the extent of damage to the embedded prestressing strands and mild reinforcing shear steel. Martin/Martin was subsequently hired to provide temporary shoring loads, as well as design and detail for both immediate and less critical repairs and construction administration.
