Martin/Martin provided civil engineering services for the retrofit of the building and site to accommodate the relocation of the new Denver Christian K-12 campus. The approach started with the renovation of a training facility that included infrastructure and life safety improvements, and extended onto the site with the incorporation of an athletic field, gymnasium addition, playground development, and significant parking and site improvements. Also included was the configuration and improvement to a regional “wet” detention pond for the surrounding business park and coordination and improvements to an active irrigation ditch supporting the Pinehurst Country Club. Extensive coordination with the City of Lakewood took place to support a multi-phased entitlement process, maintaining flexibility for the school to adapt to fundraising opportunities while maintaining the integrity for active facility use.
