Martin/Martin provided civil engineering services for this 41,000 SF renovation and new addition to the 42-year-old rec center. These included drainage and detention/water quality analysis, survey, erosion control, stormwater management, a site utility plan, and construction administration.
The new project adds a large, 3-court gym, community rooms, a teaching kitchen, an aquatic center featuring an indoor/outdoor water slide, enhanced fitness amenities, and new locker rooms. The City of Aurora’s goals for the facility were to promote health and wellness, provide a safe place for students after school, and offer the community a place to gather and connect.
