Martin/Martin managed the master plan for National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s (NREL) South Table Mountain Campus beginning in 2001. The development framework studied the build-potential of the campus in conjunction with opportunities to maximize sustainable design and future growth. Martin/Martin has partnered with NREL over multiple seasons and projects to implement the 25-year build-out vision for the campus.
Services have included structural engineering, local and regional detention and low impact design, conveyance for major drainage channels and sanitary sewers, coordination with local jurisdictions for watermain alignments, domestic and fire water distribution, easements, pavement design, retaining wall design, traffic and roadway movements, and regulated utility corridors to support pad-ready sites for future facilities. Throughout the master plan and implementation process, Martin/Martin maintained complete risk transfer for the civil, foundation, core and shell, and tenant finish designs.
