Martin/Martin provided structural engineering services for this mixed-use redevelopment project in downtown Allentown. The project consists of a 271,600 SF arena with 9,010 seats, a 203,000 SF office building with a fitness center, a 10-story hotel, and two parking garages with space for 900 cars. This state-of-the-art center is home of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League and the top minor league affiliate for the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers.
The new structure wraps around the original, 1920s-era Dime Bank building. The reconstruction took the historic building down to its steel frame, reinforced it, and added new construction to create this prominent center for Allentown.
