This design-build project converted a 25-year-old, 300,000 SF hotel and residential building into a five-star hotel on a tight urban site. The building façade was largely unchanged above the plaza level, but significant structural changes were made to the building frame. Renovation work included reinforcing the plaza-level slab for a new grand ballroom, reinforcing the existing atrium roof, adding elevators through existing levels, design of a new grand lobby at street level, and a remodel of the adjacent Denver Athletic Club.
