Provided structural engineering to support artist James Turrell’s vision of “a project for a natural setting that would extend his explorations of light and space.” Martin/Martin provided the structural design of the bronze staircase located in the eastern portal of the Roden project. The staircase is supported only at the base and top of the stairs and is meant to carry the viewer up and out of the space and into the sky above.
