Structural engineering and design drawings for a new 294,000 SF hospital. The project includes 40 medical surgery and pediatric intensive care beds and 22 emergency exam rooms. The second floor supports MRI services and links to the new memorial hospital. Structural production included delivering early structural steel and foundation packages. Martin/Martin worked with the cold form framing contractor to provide panelized cold form framing. The panels were fabricated during structural steel erection. Martin/Martin shared Revit models to allow cold form framing shop drawings to begin well ahead of issuing construction documents. Additional facilities included the structural design for a new four-story 135,000 SF expansion to the north building with a connector to the new Children’s Hospital, a new two-story 28,000 SF expansion to the west, and a new 3,000 SF expansion to the central utility plant. The project also involves upgrades to imaging and other departments in the existing hospital that will include equipment support and minor structural work for new mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems. The project is phased and fast-tracked with early structural packages.
