Martin/Martin's Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee exists to evaluate processes, foster positive action, and support on-going opportunities to promote increased Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion within Martin/Martin and the community.
JEDI has been devoted to bringing together Martin/Martin to uplift our community and our employees. Previous events have included volunteering at Food Bank of the Rockies for Martin Luther King Day, recruiting events with students at University of Colorado and Colorado School of Mines, and supporting Pride Month through volunteerism in a "Martin/Martin Stronger Together" campaign. JEDI attended a career day with Denver School of Science and Technology (DSST) Public Schools to teach local students from underrepresented backgrounds about opportunities in related engineering industries, as well as organizing a school supply drive for the Jefferson County Action Center. JEDI will continue to facilitate events and activities to have a positive impact moving forward.
JEDI boosted Martin/Martin’s collegiate recruiting efforts by reaching out to underrepresented groups. JEDI has engaged with Society of Women Engineers (SWE), National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE).
Martin/Martin has always recognized our responsibility to be active members of our community. It is a fundamental part of our mission statement. Martin/Martin Gives Back is our altruistic outreach effort, partnering with local organizations and charities, creating an avenue for employees to contribute to those pursuits.
Martin/Martin partnered with Davis Partnership to raise funds for Jefferson County Public Schools. The event, called "Sumo Smackdown," helped fund a local classroom.
Additionally, we have partnered with organizations like Habitat for Humanity.
Now a yearly tradition at Martin/Martin's headquarters; beginning in November, employees begin dropping off toys and gifts for children under a large tree in the office. When the collection event completes, the toys are donated to Jefferson County Action Center, in what usually ends up as a multiple car caravan – just like Santa’s sleigh.
